New and Latest Additions to the Site

Coming Soon: Chords

We're working on a new chords workbook and new web pages it's taking a lot of work to make this one work.

Music Playing Instruction New Section

A new section on playing tips and methods has just been added to the site. The most recent requests are on scale fingering for the keyboard. So we've added a piano instruction section starting with scale fingerings.

We need help to expand and develop this section. Contact us if you have some articles or tips that you would like to add. Linking and recognition will be given.

Scales

Added a full new section on the music theory of scales. Explore chromatic, major, 3 types of minors, diminished and polytonal, whole tone, pentatonic, blues, gospel, and scale modes.

Lots of good basic information to start you down the right path working with scales.

Getting It Down Cold Workbooks

The Getting It Down Cold Workbook Series has now expanded to cover rhythm, notes, masterstaff, intervals, key signatures, scales, and a new chord workbook is in the works. Check out the workbook bundles.

Teaching Techniques

Added is a new section called teaching music considerations. It explores further ideas about articles we are and will be posting at ezinearticles and other article sites. The intention is to explore one small idea about teaching others to learn.

Learning techniques will still be under the awareness category.

Music Learning Blog

The Web Log is now active, it will post new and updated pages. The blog is not set up for comments, but we will implement a new content area for member use and blog style interaction after our base of users increases. Be sure to subscribe to the RSS Feed for this announcement. RSS Links are in the left column.

Intervals

Our newest addition is the intervals page. This will give you a good overview and understanding of intervals.

The two volume Indentifying intervals workbook became available on Labor day and can be ordered from the Getting It Down Cold Workbooks page.

Mastering the Master Staff Mini Course

Good feedback on the Mastering the Master Staff mini course. You can sign up to go through the one month email course for free. You also get the workbook at the end of the series.

Basic Music Theory Elements Section

We have begun the Basic Music Theory Elements Section with overview pages. The new basic rhythm lesson series is now up and is a step by step way for the new student to gain quick knowledge to boost this all important element of music.

Awareness

Currently we have put up some articles on music awareness and awareness in learning for concepts, practice, methods, and beliefs. Recently added considerations on technique.

These are observations over the years of how learning and teaching is approached and what we think are better ways to view it.
